Nearly three decades on, I’m
watching a couple double-check the accounts, notch things up on the bedposts, look
up currency rates, do some big time hedging, conduct some commodity swaps
and scrupulously and dependably pay each other the wages of their respective original sins (which
are the wages of the death of their relationship).
So don’t ever blame the
Lord, because all it takes to destroy a paradise is one sin and human
book-keeping.
