Climax

(The track, played by brilliant Smooth 70s , reminded me that I owe you the results of my stalking of sex, the problem of, I mean.)

A Christian’s life climaxes in Heaven. But in what sense, or senses?
Will some of our urges and desires – those that in the post-original-sin context lead to harm – just disappear? Or will the next perfect context render them harmless and bless them?
You may recall that I’ve been turned on by these questions for a while now. And I’ve reached a pretty rousing conclusion.
However, I still hesitate whether to expose it. Although I have to agree that generally it is good for people to end up in Heaven, what if we make it to Paradise – if we make it to Paradise – and find it full of types who became good Christians and got there for a wrong reason*?

(The session will be continued, but let me keep the tension up , so to speak. Treat this little note as a bit of intellectual foreplay.)

*just take a stroll in downtown Cardiff on a weekend night to see the kind of guys would be the first to get on the straight and narrow if promised a heavenly mega party. I can easily picture them standing in the first heavenly assembly, bursting with anticipation, and eagerly repeating a short prayer in their minds: “Lord, just say the word! Just say the word!” And they wouldn’t mean: “Now, let’s start a psalm”, but just: “Start!”
