(If I may... I’d like to dedicate this song to the woman David Kenneth Roy Thomson,
3rd Baron Thomson of Fleet loves;
...or soon will)
My previous post made me think.
First of all I realised that the title might turn out to be a double-edged sword and could be used against yours truly by some unsympathetic naturalist reader of that post or, generally, by any heartless critic of my journal.
So I’ve decided not to write yet to the ISI asking them to include this blog in one of their existing indices.
Instead I’m going somehow to get them – even if I have to do it through their girlfriends - to set up a new one: The Emotional Impact Factor Index.
Then I’ll grab them by their hearts, twist them tenderly looking long and hard into their eyes, get some wisdom-giving blood to reach their half-dead intellects and make them, their serene smiles drenched in refreshing tears, put me right on top - or thereabouts.
After all, it’s not the laurel that excites.
It’s the Cause.
(I swear to God - it is)
