(Predictably) Right & Hugged

Oscar[1] ran into me the other day.

Or I ran into him, to be precise.

There was a young woman with him; in an uncommitted way, judging by the body language (but what do I really know about bodies out there?).

I expressed a sensible opinion about the role of the government in general and then another sensible opinion about a particular role of the local government[2]. The woman, moved by the fact that I was predictably right, gave me a tender hug[3]. Then she attracted a Marxist and introduced him to me. (There’s women for you! All hugs and carrots seemingly, but always having a stick close at hand).

I guess it was because of all the hugging and cuddling (additionally, you could say what you wanted about that young public enemy, but he managed to make a subversively friendly impression on the leasurely working class, i.e. me) that instead of coming up with something intellectually sharp and effectively blunt, the best I could muster was: “Isn’t this a free country? In normal circumstances[4]  you would be incarcerated and re-educated.”

(Oscar tried to clarify to me Church or something, but - owing to all this hugging, cuddling and Marxism; or just because I'm not intelligent enough - I got nothing.)

[1] For those of you who are not Oscar: Oscar isn't my imaginary... or have I already mentioned it? I have a feeling I have. Ever more often I catch myself repeating stuff – or actually others do, which is more worrying. I recon I should check what I post here for blatantly obvious repetitions . Yes, I need to do it. (But, blimey!, what was my blog called?)

[2] on which more - soon.

[3] It would be interesting if nature develpoed a way of reinforcing right political views by somehow getting women to hug, cuddle or generally do something pleasant to men, when men express right political or economic views.

On the other hand that would require women to be intelectually superior to men - as intellect would have to be involved in any such mechanism (there's no way highly sophisticated assessments could happen purely naturally - which ruins the whole point; but I'll carry on regardless and probably ruin it all for myself) that would require women to be intellectually superior to men and one (man) just feels there would be something fundamentally wrong in such an exotic setup.

[4] I meant: in a country run by a regime as eager for the common good as socialist ones, but with better grasp of the what’s what (but what do we know about what’s what out there?); but I’m not sure if I explained this – because of all the hugging, cuddling, Marxists and kissing… - no, sorry: I’m getting carried away. I just can’t fall for the Sensual Love Fallacy, which is just as bad – if not worse; as it gives you no prospect of satisfaction, while the latter at least gives you a helpful hint, if you manage to keep your cool (but the thing with the Romantic Love Fallacy is exactly that… -  to be continued; anyway, you know what’s coming) - as the Romantic Love Fallacy,
