An anticlimactic summit

Getting, only just, to the peak - for a ramble

For a good few days I haven’t heard anything as incoherently unreassuring, not to mention uninspiring, from European politicians as today’s Merkel-Hollande press conference. A complete bumbling flop.

The good news for the EU is that Zeus seems to be on their side. Foreseeing what was coming, Astrapios apparently sent lightning at Hollande’s plane to prevent a disaster. Unfortunately, the new president of France may have little brains, but he seems to have some stamina - he got on another plane and did make it to Berlin.

For the sake of Europe (not to be confused with the anit-European EU) though, one just hopes that behind the hapless duo there’s someone with more brains and balls – some sharp, cunning Freemasons of The Grand Orient de France (GODF) in case of the président  and ruthless German industrialists, preferably from the arms production sector, in case of the Bundeskanzlerin.

PS What cheered me up a bit though was that there is somewhere a worse simultaneous interpreter than myself. I am hopeless, but that woman who was trying to do the job there beats me hands down.
