is that a few Jews hurt the few Jews that a lot of Poles love?*
PS Not long ago, at the start of a conversation with a Polish stranger, I had this idea about the attitude of many of my fellow-citizens towards Jews (or imaginary Jews) attributing the problem, and it is a problem, to a very emotional and extremely personal history. That would be the ideal answer, so to speak, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to be the right one; and it definitely wasn't one that could explain what I painfully heard during that conversation.
So I put this thought aside to work on it for a while, hoping to collect more Jewish-themed musings around it, then throw in a selection Hebraica and publish it.
However, I've just I caught a glimpse of the cover of a recent issue of the Newsweek magazine (the Polish edition) and it prompted me to speed things up and catch the wave; though it's never too difficult to catch this particular wave hereabouts.
And let's not forget another issue: why some Jews dislike a lot of Poles so much?
More on paralel ideas, theme overlaps and timing in the publishing :) business - soon.
*only after I'd seen it written down, did I realise what a terrible cliché it was; but because the bear's so cute, I'm letting it stay.
