And what if Nietzsche had actually understood something about Christianity?
Because it seems as if whatever he thought and wrote about it was based on his reading of his own gibberish*.
Which is such a shame. Because in so many respects he shared deeply Christian desires, urges and aspirations.
For example: why didn't he get this simple truth – we're also after power. It's not so hard to realise after all that human psyche and human body predispose us to wielding power. And ,whether we like it or not, we must embrace challenges, the way he did, because the road to real power is paved with real challenges.
The difference between him and us is that we know where to look for true power (and we don't want illusions, do we?).
If he'd understood that, he'd been able to see that for us morality is secondary to power. When we rally around our King, it's not for his laws, but for a share in his power!
Not only was he wrong in directing his just and noble desires – he was pathetic with his meek solutions, so inferior to ours! His acceptance of the alleged necessity of the 'eternal return', his 'amor fati'. And he is supposed to be our new prophet? How? If he doesn't inspire, but depresses. How can he lead us anywhere, if all he causes in us is pity - for himself?
Because we look down on eternal returns and their prophets! We look down on those who look for power in their weak heads believing they'd be able to wield it in their weak hands. We're braver - being ready to lose it all and become the eternal Untermenschen, or win it all, in one go - and become ...! We're superior - in betting everything on just one coming, one departure, one King - and one return, ready to grab the sword of power, even if it comes as an olive branch - it doesn't matter as long as it makes us mighty.
What a shame then that this genius couldn't grasp a different vision from that miserable and wrong one that he developed in his mind:
A decisive wind chases away dark, fuzzy clouds in the sky to let the light rule; a banner flutters above the troops and proclaims: Power through Love & Love through Power. The King is among his sons, all clad in the shining armour of meekness, all on horseback. Their eyes are wild with wisdom. And they - thrill-hungry, life-devouring, exhaustively here and now, die wahre - if ever there will be any - Übermenschen, true Christian wolves -
...launch! -
- against deadly misconceptions,
that they may kill no more...
...and for the ultimate life - and power!

*gibberish was what he wrote about my faith. In so many other respects, he was pure genius - a true Visionary, in a wrong way.
PS A funny reminder arrived in my inbox this morning, when I had already had this post ready in my head (a small, cute coincidence - I'll tell you about it later; or check here: http://www.facebook.com/events/194584263959283/)
