*(The current will take us nowhere)
... what's the news then?
We've known for ages that there is a correlation between our brain and consciousness. So let me suggest that the progress we've made since some of us decided that it's the brain where consciousness lies or springs from - is exactly nil.
Sure, we keep observing more blips on the screen, we keep find more current here and there, which - fair enough - could be interesting from some points of view. But definitely not from ours. The problem is some philosophers have lost their bearing and become overcome by the current.
We've got enough data to keep digging through for the rest of the time available. The philosophical question is: where can we possibly get even if we manage to reach the other side of this pile?
My answer is: back to square one. For analysing blips on monitor screens is not philosophy, and by the look of them - it's likely to be a waste of time, to boot.
*fiction (but gripping)
